Creating a backyard paradise

Read on! We have tips that will help you increase your outdoor living space, no matter where you live.

Patios and Decks

Patios and decks are great for homeowners who want to entertain, cook and relax outdoors.

These outdoor living spaces can be a great way to increase your property's value. To decide whether a brick, stone paver, or concrete patio is right for you, you need to choose the aesthetics that you prefer.

After you've completed your foundation, you can add a patio or deck to personalize it. You can add plants, flowers, or greenery. Use a privacy screen or a vine-friendly tree trellis to keep you and your neighbors from each other.

A pergola or awning provides shade, making the space more comfortable on hot summer days.

Fireplaces and fire pits

There are many options for outdoor fireplaces and fire pits. You can choose from store-bought, portable or hardscape features that you can install yourself or hire a professional. To ensure that outdoor fireplaces and fire pits are permitted in your yard, it is a good idea to check with the fire marshal or local fire department.

There are many materials available, from brick to copper fire pits. An outdoor fire pit is a great way for you to extend your outdoor time and provide heat during colder nights.

We cannot talk about fire without mentioning a few safety tips. Make sure outdoor fireplaces and fire pits aren't located near low-hanging trees.
